We enhanced the Classic Basil Pesto with Serrano del Sol spicy pepper! Serrano peppers are popular in Mexican cuisine. Its heat unit reaches up to 10 000 – 25 000 Scoville units (SHU). Ours reach around 15 000 Scoville units. Basil pesto with peppers is an ideal taste combination for those who like a light spice because Serrano is only a guest in this jar, to not overpower the main star – basil. This pesto can be used as a marinade for chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. It is an excellent sauce for appetizers, as a dressing for salad, or just a snack to dip your spoon in while nobody watches.
